WNSX (97.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Adult Contemporary format. Licensed to Winter Harbor, Maine, USA, the station serves the Downeast Maine area. The station is currently owned by Stony Creek Broadcasting, LLC.[1]WNSX's current format is a Soft AC/Classic Hits mix including the Beatles, Crosby Stills & Nash, Billy Joel, and Elton John. The station's signal serves Washington and Hancock counties.
History
The station went on the air as WAKN on September 8, 1995. On April 4, 2000 the station changed its call sign to the current WNSX.[2] Shortly after changing call letters, the station signed on, simululcasting then sister station WMDI, now WBQI part of the W-BACH classical network. In late 2000 the station was bought by Clear Channel Communications and began simulcasting WFZX before carrying Fox Sports Radio for several years before returning to a simulcast of WFZX. In 2005 the station was sold to Stony Creek Broadcasting (Mark L. Osborne, managing member [3]), and adopted its current format[1].
