The station went on the air as WNTK-FM on 1990-12-17. on 1992-11-30, the station changed its call sign to WNBX, on 1994-12-19 to WUVR, on 1996-03-11 to WNBX, on 1997-02-15 to WVRR, on 1997-03-31 to the current WXXK,[2]
