The Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) is a 13-county region[1] in the U.S. state of Georgia, and is also considered to include five counties[1] in South Carolina. The region is located on and named after the Savannah River, which separates the two states. The largest cities within the CSRA are Augusta, Georgia and Aiken, South Carolina.

As of the 2000 census, the six-county Augusta-Richmond County Metropolitan Statistical Area (at the center of the CSRA) had a population of 499,684. A July 1, 2007 estimate placed the population at 528,519.[2], making it the 87th largest in the nation and second largest in the State of Georgia. Cities and towns within the CSRA include:
